About Us
Who is CEMFIN? Christian Empowerment Micro-finance (CEMFIN) is a Christian company established in Zambia, with a view to empowering Christians and other entrepreneurs who may otherwise be unable to get the capital they need to grow their business. In particular, our focus is on women and the youth, who are, many times, amongst the most vulnerable.
CEMFIN is the brain child of the need identified by a group of Christians, and supported by global, as well as, local partners, devoted to empower the underprivileged in our society. The company has been established to provide poor borrowers with business skills based on sound biblical principles. Through partnerships with local churches, CEMFIN seeks to enhance and revive the spirit of evangelism and discipleship in our communities. Through pivotal support, and encouragement from the local church, CEMFIN hopes to make this vision reality. The Need Today in Zambia, most people are experiencing fundamental challenges to their quality of life. These challenges include lack of employment opportunities, lack of access to educational services and poor healthcare, including high infant mortality. The government of Zambia has done it's best to improve economic opportunities through outside investment in various sectors such as mining, agriculture and tourism. Despite these efforts there is still a need for economic empowerment found within the creative ambition of our own people.
The Goal Our goal is to initiate holistic transformation in the lives of our clients by empowering them economically, socially and spiritually. Through our actions and the marketing of sustainable financial services, we hope to showcase the love of God and provide the fertile soil for spiritual growth in our community.
Our aim is to provide support and the stepping stone for our fellow Zambians as they struggle to break out of the cycle of poverty. Although, we serve the entire community, we do so with a hope we've found in Jesus. We pray for our clients and believe that while we work in the business world, we should act in a way that emulates the love of Christ. |
